What is UX?

Imagine if you’re in a physical shop. You walk through the automatic doors, and are immediately met with a brick wall. There’s no customer service assistants to help you - they’re out the back in the staff room having a cuppa. Signage is hidden away so you don’t know where everything is. This coupled with elbow-to-elbow , and it’s a headache waiting to happen. Swap this for a digital site - each page is a different aisle, there’s a web chat in place, you have signage in the form of a navigation bar, and the website traffic resembles the people. You don’t want people’s mice to bolt to the red cross because they’re feeling overwhelmed and the loading icon is working overtime, and that’s why UX is so important.
